FAQs

In 1970s Ohio, Lizzie gathers a group of women to discuss what it means to be free—and how that freedom can change the world. Decades later, Lizzie finds herself asking the same questions. As she revisits her mother’s memory in search of the answer, she’s also confronted with the unfinished revolution she helped ignite. Raw, relevant, and bitingly funny, LIBERATION alternates between past and present to explore what we inherit, what we forget, and what we’re still fighting to understand.

Please be advised that this production contains adult language and nudity. The show also uses herbal cigarettes and haze effects.

LIBERATION has mature themes and nudity, parental/guardian guidance is recommended to consider what is suitable.

This production is phone-free. To protect the privacy of our performers, phones will be secured in Yondr pouches (you will have possession of the phone and pouch at all times), which will be unlocked at the end of the show. We recommend bringing a credit card for purchases inside the theatre.

Anyone seen using their device during the performance will be required to leave immediately without a refund.

If your phone is needed for captioning or audio description services, you’ll be required to cover your cameras. Otherwise, you can check out an accessibility device from coat check.

The show is at the JAMES EARL JONES THEATRE at 138 W 48th St, New York, NY 10036.

The runtime is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, including one 15-minute intermission.

The JAMES EARL JONES THEATRE box office is not open yet.
